If you want to start taking notes for your work or a project, but don’t know how, or get overwhelmed with complex methods; try this:
Date
- Thing I did.
- Other thing that happened.
- Thing I want to remember to do.
- Brief context for a thing I need to come back to later.
That’s it.
It is simple, searchable, and gives your future self context to resume work tomorrow.
Put the document somewhere easy to access that has an interface you like. Whatever you will actually use is what you want. A text file, markdown, Word, Google Docs, etc.
I use Word at work because I’m already using Word at work. I just leave a tab with the work log document open in my browser while I’m working and update as I go.
