The Little Things

God sometimes gives us joy in the little things. The little graces. A hassle I was expecting to have to deal with was resolved before I woke up. I was able to talk to 7 medical (two were billing) people and left messages for another four today. I had been putting that off and was not expecting to get the information I needed and appointments scheduled all in an hour and a half.

When I went to the library tonight, I saw the city lights in a majestic display. I stood there for a minute and thought, “Thank you, God”. A small blessing, a small moment of calm. How many “small things” have I missed in my busyness? How many small graces has God bestowed without my notice? Or even big graces for that matter. It’s easy to get caught up in rushing around without taking a moment to be grateful for what we do have.
