Hello. I am Josh. I am a Recovering Productivity Junkie

I like to read productivity books. In fact, most of the books I read are either on productivity, habits or personal finance. I have a list of my favorites that will likely show up as a blog post in the near future. Recently, I realized I’ve read so much looking to “fix” my life and wasn’t really doing much of what I had been learning. Part of the problem is that I am overwhelmed at the volume of information I have been consuming. I was reading, watching and listening to much more than I could reasonable expect to apply. So now, I’m taking a step back, putting my latest book on the shelf and start to apply the concepts I’ve been learning; one at a time. This reinforces what I have been learning recently: Action is greater than planning and planning is greater than talking. Action > Planning > Talking. This is the main point of my last blog post on why it is important to Put The Reps In. Planning things is essential, talking about things can be useful, I don’t want you to think that I’m against planning. But, if you don’t do anything with what you’ve learned and planned, it didn’t do you any good. Planning is not action. Planning is the setup for the action. Think. Plan. Act. Change the world.
