Daddy Is Wrong

All sin is a lack of trust in God. It’s saying “I trust what I think is best is better than what you think is best.” This idea came from a sermon clip where John Piper gave this illustration:

“The only reason my sons disobey me is because, on the spur of the moment, or planned out, they don’t think what I’ve said is best for them. “Don’t play there.” “Well, it looks like it’s more fun to play there. Therefore, I will play there.” Tacitly, Daddy’s wrong. That’s why we disobey. We do not trust God.”

“Daddy’s wrong.” That’s what we say when sin. That our heavenly Father must be mistaken because our sin looks like more fun than what He says in His word. It never is.

When we sin, we must come again to His word. We must trust that the all-powerful, all-loving God will accomplish His good in our life if we will trust Him and “take heed” [take action, obey] according to His word.

I write this as I need to hear it. I pray that it would be useful for you.
