I came up with a manifesto after reading “The Disciplined Life” by Richard S. Taylor:
“A Manifesto To Live By” by Josh Mudge
A ruthless elimination of the nonessential.
A rescheduling of the “urgent”.
A lack of care for “should”s and “could”s in the face of “must”s.
A surrendering of sins, worries, and regrets to God.
A surrendering of the twin gifts of pain and trouble.
A conviction to “buffet” myself when life is going well.
A conviction to enforce self-discipline, starting with the little things.
All for the glory of God.
I have a long way to go in holding to this manifesto, but it’s a start.
Josh
