How might your life be better with “less, but better”?
I’ve been eliminating things that aren’t as important (junk, and merely “good” things) to allow me to focus on the most important things.
I think this will be a lifelong journey. I’ll never “arrive” with the perfect amount of stuff, commitments, and focus points. What is useful and beautiful is different for each season of life.
But in every season, there is a sense of relief in getting rid of what is not needed. Even if it’s just some papers I’d been meaning to go through or some long expired medication.
Essentialism by Greg McKeown
YouTube videos by the Minimalists can also be useful, but skip the episodes where they swear. They have a lot of swearing-free content, the swearing episodes are not worth watching in my opinion.
Greg McKeown doesn’t swear and is overall better, but the Minimalists have some insights as well. It’s not about only having x items, it’s about getting rid of what you don’t value to make room for what brings the most value to your life.
